The Environment
Your investment in the highest quality new or used office furniture is a positive step toward cleaning up our environment. Quality commercial office furniture manufacturers build their products to last through many moves and reconfigurations. By re-using and remanufacturing this furniture and not discarding it, you limit the amount of raw materials extracted from the earth. Re-use also minimizes energy consumption in the remanufacturing process and diverts waste material from landfills. Best of all, this sustainability means savings to you.
At Re-form we remanufacture and resell grade A office furniture. We also use many recycled products such as fabric and packaging materials in the remanufacturing process, and we recycle our excess scrap metal, cardboard and paper products. Additionally, all paints and adhesives used in our remanufacturing processes are water-based, keeping our emissions and waste well below government requirements.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
Many LEED credits for commercial interiors are more costly than traditional resources, however, office furniture remanufacture and reuse offer both LEED credits and cost savings. Both LEED CI credits noted below for reusing and remanufacturing office furniture, sourced locally, offer significant savings:
LEED CI Credit 3.3 (1) Point
Requirements: Use salvaged, refurbished or used furniture and furnishings for 30% of the total furniture and furnishings budget.
LEED CI Credit 5.1 (1) Point
Requirements: Use a minimum of 20% of the combined value of construction and Division 12 (furniture) materials and products that are manufactured regionally within a radius of 500 miles.
